Description
In this mental commitment case, appellant contends that the state failed to prove that she suffers from a mental disorder that renders her a danger to herself and that she is unwilling, unable, or unlikely to participate in voluntary treatment. The state responds that it demonstrated that appellant suffers from depression and addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs and that, as a result, she recently attempted to commit suicide. That evidence, the state contends, sufficed to satisfy its burden of persuasion. Appellants willingness to participate in voluntary treatment, the state argues, is up to her to prove, and she did not do so in this case. We agree with the state and affirm.
